Workplace Safety and Employee Health
The occupational safety and health management goal of Tawian Secom is "be safe with zero accidents", since having a low rate of work-related injuries is one of the key indicators in evaluating the health and safety of employees. The health and safety of employees are very important to us. In order to improve employees' risk awareness and safety knowledge, we implement risk assessment, hazard identification, safety and health education propaganda and announcements, and pre-work toolbox meetings and promote safety and health theme months.
Thus, the Company holds occupational safety and health meetings regularly to carry out the propaganda and care. To ensure improvement and prevent recurrence, “Occupational Safety and Health Management Regulations”, “Occupational Safety and Health Management Plan”, “Work Rules for Occupational Safety and Health”, “Human Factors Hazard Prevention Plan”, “Abnormal Workload-triggered Disorders Prevention Plan” and others are included in the current safety management regulations.
The “on-site health service” was provided to 625 employees in 2024. We implemented the four major programs regarding ergonomic design, overloading, workplace violence, and maternity health protection. Moreover, the Company organized health examinations and distributed questionnaires to grade employees' health conditions, interviewed employees with medium to high health risks, and provided suggestions. The Company continues to provide support for employees who qualify for the maternity health protection program.
Excellent Childcare Measures
Due to Taiwan Secom's special business structure, the ratio of male employees to female employees in the Company has remained higher than other businesses for years.
In response to the trend of entering an aging society with a low birth-rate in Taiwan, we provide a comprehensive benefit system that not only ensures the promotion, performance appraisal and welfare of employees who are on leave without pay, but also comes with a benefit scheme that offers menstruation leave, pregnancy disability leave, maternity leave, parental leave, paternity leave, family care leave and daycare subsidies to ensure the rights and interests of employees.
To take care of female employees with nursing needs, we set up a private lactation room at Taiwan Secom.
The Company and the Employee Welfare Committee have also signed a contract with the renowned daycare institution nearby to provide nursing service to employees at a discounted price. Based on the government's unpaid parental leave policy, employees may apply for unpaid parental leave in accordance with the “Gender Equality in Employment Act” and the “Regulations for Implementing Unpaid Parental leave for Raising Children” and extend it for personal reasons.
Employees may also apply for early reinstatement and still receive the Labor Insurance and National Health Insurance with the Company during the period of unpaid parental leave.
Based on the government’s unpaid parental leave policy, employees may apply to the Company for unpaid parental leave in accordance with the “Gender Equality in Employment Act” and the “Regulations for Implementing Unpaid Parental leave for Raising Children” and may extend it for personal reasons.
Employees may also apply for early reinstatement and continue to join the Labor Insurance and National Health Insurance with the Company during the period of unpaid parental leave.
Twenty one employees, in total, applied for unpaid parental leave in 2024 (all applications were approved).
The average reinstatement rate for unpaid parental leave was 40%; in total, 7 employees applied for maternity leave, and 14 employees applied for paternity leave. Besides, there was no sexual harassment complaints in 2024.

Starting a Group Volunteer Service Team
Volunteer teams led by the Taiwan Secom Cultural and Educational Foundation actively participate in the public welfare blood donation activities promoted by the Foundation. Collaborating with the Taipei Blood Donation Center, Taiwan Secom places blood donation vehicles at the door of the Headquarters once every four months, with more than 300 bags of blood donated each year.
The Epidemic Prevention Care Has Not Neglected the Senior Citizens who Live Alone
In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19), to avoid mass infection, gatherings and on-site activities have been suspended. The elderly are considered to be a high-risk group, and their out-door activities are severely restricted. For the elderly who live alone and rely on the help of the community, life is getting more difficult. Taiwan Secom's operation and service for emergency rescue is uninterrupted and works with the government to get through difficult times, so that epidemic prevention care does not leave out the elderly who are living alone, in order to jointly protect Taiwan!
Frontline personnel from the emergency rescue service who travel to serve at the residences of the elderly are compliant with the CDC standards for epidemic prevention.
Thorough quick screening of the personnel with epidemic prevention equipment, such as hand sanitizer, masks, and goggles, as well as daily measurement for normal body temperature helps to protect employees and users.
We assisted 150 people in emergency help incidents
During 2021's Level 3 epidemic prevention measures, we assisted 150 people in emergency help incidents, and provided the elderly who live alone with vaccination information, information for daily life services, etc., along with care call query about safety, education on epidemic prevention and protection, and the provision of epidemic prevention kits (including masks, hand sanitizers, canned foods, etc.) to disadvantaged senior citizens.
