Taiwan is evolving into an aged society where the need for care for the elderly has become a pressing issue. As a way of giving back to society, Taiwan SECOM established the Taiwan SECOM Social Welfare Foundation in 2005 to provide full-range care of the elderly with technology-based services and integration of data communication systems.
Long-distance Care of the Elderly at Home for Their Safety and Health
Taiwan SECOM Social Welfare Foundation provides long-distance care of the elderly at home to build up an overall social security protection web in cooperation with the Social and Family Affairs Administration to conduct routine telephone interviews with the elderly living alone and to show concern for their physical and mental well-being. In the case of emergency, the Foundation will notify related entities for assistance.
Day Care Centers for Improving the Physical and Mental Well-being of Seniors
In order to enable the elderly to receive the best care possible and provide peace of mind for their loved ones, regardless of whether the elderly are living alone or with their families or are suffering from disability or dementia, Taiwan SECOM Social Welfare Foundation initiated the construction of daycare centers for the elderly in 2018. The community style long-term care facilities are conveniently located in Taoyuan, New Taipei City, and Taipei. The elders receive complete care during the day and have the opportunity to expand their social circles, providing mental and physical support and fulfillment.
