LIN TENG CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation has dedicated itself to charitable causes in the Yilan area for many years, especially in the field of education, where it has invested a lot of resources to assist in the cultivation of local talents. For more than three decades, the Foundation has benefited thousands of students in Yilan County with scholarship programs and grants that have gradually expanded since 2017. The Foundation hosts Poem Recitation Competitions, confers the Lin Teng Literature Awards, and the Lin Deng Cultural and Educational Foundation Yilan Elite Cultivation Program. It is committed to providing Yilan students with greater educational resources and ensuring their education is on par with major cities and international standards, and creating a sustainable cycle of giving back to their hometown and communities.

Encouraging Athletic Talent Development
Basketball & Baseball

The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation began to carry out its Baseball Team Cultivation and Sponsorship Program – Wood Bat Baseball Team in 2019 and assisted National LoTung Industrial Vocational High School to establish its first “wood bat baseball team” in Yilan. To encourage the players to perform better on the field, in addition to the fixed annual sponsorships, the Program also invested resources to help improve their equipment, nutrition intake, training venues, and coaching resources. The Yilan High School Basketball Team is also under the long-term sponsorship and support of the Foundation. Through professional coaches and equipment, the players have been provided a nurturing environment to actively participate in large and small competitions with peace of mind on funding constraints. In addition to winning awards and gaining a sense of achievement, this will also aid students in their future academic studies and educational aspirations.

Simultaneous Advancement of Mathematics, Science, and Languages to promote the “Mathematics and Physics Elite Program” and the “English Communication Enhancement Program”

The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation has spared no effort in nurturing the children of the Lanyang Plains. In 2020, it provided funding to sponsor National Lan-Yang Girls’ Senior High School to implement the English Communication Enhancement Project and established the Lin Teng English Education Resource Center on campus.

The program includes after-school English speaking class, Chrome Book integrated English Teaching, Lin Teng Cup National High School Vocational English Speaking Contest, and study abroad scholarships.

After-class English speaking classes are taught in English to strengthen students’ English communication skills. The Foundation has donated 100 Chrome Books and purchased charging storage cabinets to comprehensively enhance the students’ English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

For National Yilan Senior High School, the Foundation is promoting the Mathematics and Physics Elite Project to help students improve their mathematical abilities and actively participate in various competitions such as the International Mathematical Olympiad. The students of Yilan Senior High School have also achieved good results in the competition.

Implement Adaptive Education and Promote the Yilan Elite Cultivation Program

The Lin Teng Cultural and Educational Foundation Yilan Elite Cultivation Program was established to encourage students in Yilan to freely develop diverse talents. As long as the individual or group of students proposes innovative ideas and compelling plans in various academic fields such as mathematics, science, technology, literature, history, arts and sports, they can apply for financial aid and subsidies. Since the expansion of the scholarship program in 2017, 81 programs have been approved so far, with a cumulative amount of more than NT$20 million. In addition, to improve students' literacy, the Foundation also continues to hold the Poetry Recitation Competition. All public and private high school, junior high school, and elementary school students who are registered in Yilan County or are studying in Yilan County can register to participate. The winning prize is NT$20,000, which will inspire students to learn and understand classic Chinese culture and literature works.
